Mary Donahue
Mary Donahue began as a special education teacher at a public school in Washington, D.C. in the United States of America. Following her time in D.C., she accepted a position at the American International School of Johannesburg (AISJ) as a learning support teacher. Mary first became connected with SENIA during her time at AISJ. She co-presented at the virtual December 2022 conference on “Our MTSS Journey,” which shared the work that had been done at AISJ to build the multi-tiered systems of support. Currently, she has returned to the United States and is a special education teacher in the state of Maryland.
Mary holds a masters degree in Elementary and Special Education from Lesley University and has taught as a special education teacher for over ten years. She is certified in multiple structured literacy interventions including Wilson Language, Language Foundations through the Atlantic Seaboard Dyslexia Education Center, and Bowman's Orton Gillingham Plus programming.
